Who and how many people attend TESOL conventions?
More than 7,600 ESL/EFL professionals from 96 countries attended TESOL's 39th Annual Convention in San Antonio, Texas, in March 2005. Attendees had the opportunity to participate and learn by choosing from more than 900 sessions offered with over 1,674 presenters representing some of the best in the profession. Figures on attendees' institutional and instructional levels are as follows: Pre-K-elementary schools, 16.70%; middle schools 10.37%; secondary schools, 12.55%; 2- and 4-year colleges, 23.64%; graduate or postgraduate, 13%; other, 23.74%.
