Why should I recruit at the Job MarketPlace?

Each year thousands of ESL/EFL professionals attend the TESOL convention, making it an ideal opportunity to recruit. However, only registered Job MarketPlace recruiters are permitted to advertise jobs or schedule interviews during the TESOL Convention or refer to the TESOL Convention in their job ad text. That makes the Job MarketPlace your key marketing resource for recruiting during the TESOL Convention. Space is limited, so reserve early!

What does the private interview booth consist of?

Each interview booth is equipped with a table, two chairs, and a wastebasket, and is draped for privacy. Within reason, TESOL will avoid placing booths next to a similar institution or organization. Electricity is available upon request.

What do the greeting tables consist of?

One 6-foot table with two chairs, placed in a meet-and-greet area outside the interview booth space. This meet-and-greet area is reserved for Premium booth holders. Premium booth packages are limited and usually sell out. Don't wait to reserve your space! Electricity is available upon request.

What kinds of advertising opportunities are available?
There are two ways to advertise your institution or organization: camera-ready display ads and job descriptions. Camera-ready display ads are placed in the Recruiting Directory, a booklet given to all job seekers who visit the Job MarketPlace. Published exclusively for the Job MarketPlace, the Recruiting Directory lists hundreds of job announcements from institutions and organizations participating in the Job MarketPlace, all in one handy guide.  Only pre-paid job ads received by the deadline of January 16, 2006. Ads that arrive after the deadline are posted on a bulletin board and are not as widely seen by job seekers as those that appear in the directory. The directory serves as a handy reference guide to job seekers who carry the guide with them as they prepare to submit resumes for appointments.

Camera-ready display ads are included IN ADDITION TO your job descriptions and are the premier way of highlighting your institution or organization. Space for display ads is limited, so don't wait to reserve yours!

Job descriptions are included with each of the Job MarketPlace packages. Premium, Double, and Standard packages include one free job description, while the Resume Collection Only Package includes two. Job descriptions are included in the Recruiting Directory or on job boards at the Job MarketPlace, depending on when you register.

What kind of display can I bring?
The Job MarketPlace is a separate event from the Exhibit Hall, and job seekers do not circulate in the interview booth area, although participants may circulate in the premium booth area. TABLETOP, POP-UP, BACKDROP, AND FULL DISPLAYS ARE NOT PERMITTED AT THE JOB MARKETPLACE. Posters, poster boards, or any other decorations that are higher than the tabletop are not permitted in the premium booth area. Promotional material cannot be stapled or tacked onto the exterior booth curtains or any of the common areas of the Job MarketPlace. Please note, to keep noise levels to a minimum, TESOL DOES NOT ALLOW THE USE OF ANY AUDIOVISUAL EQUIPMENT except a silent laptop computer with a screen size of up to 17 inches.
