Where will my job description be posted?
If you register and pay in full before the 2006 preregistration deadline in mid-January 2006, your job description will be included in the Recruiting Directory and your brief (100 word) job description will appear in two special issues of the Placement E-Bulletin, a job posting newsletter sent to more than 5,500 TESOL members. If you register after the 2006 preregistration deadline, your ad will only appear on the job announcement boards inside the Job MarketPlace. These boards are used only for ads that come in after the preregistration date. To advertise your institution more widely, TESOL strongly recommends that you send your application before the preregistration deadline. The directory gets the widest distribution.

How many days should I recruit at the Job MarketPlace?
TESOL strongly recommends you register to recruit for at least two consecutive days because:

Jobseekers must have time to review available job postings and submit their résumés. No resumes will be submitted prior to the opening of the Job MarketPlace at 9 a.m.,Wednesday, March 15, 2006.
Recruiters must have time to review submitted resumes and post list(s) of potential interviewees.
Jobseekers must have adequate time to review your posted list(s) of potential interviewees and, if selected, make an appointment to interview.
One day is usually not enough time to conduct business.

Recruiter check-in for the 2006 Job MarketPlace will begin at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, March 14. Premium, Double, and Standard Package holders may begin picking up résumés, if available, at 3 p.m. the day before their reservation begins. Please remember, there will be no résumés to pick up until the Job MarketPlace opens to jobseekers on March 15. Résumé collection-only package holders may pick up résumés between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 18, or TESOL will mail them.

TESOL has received complaints from job seekers who scheduled interviews only to find that the recruiter had left. Since it reflects badly on institutions that do this, TESOL asks that recruiters be present and available for interviews at the Job MarketPlace during all of the hours the Job MarketPlace is open on all of the days they have reserved. Recruiters are required to submit schedules when they arrive at the Job MarketPlace that reflect any short periods (breaks, lunch, or attending a session, for example) when they may be unavailable. Otherwise, interviews will be scheduled during all of the hours the Job MarketPlace is open on all of the days that have been reserved. Interviews may be scheduled as late as an hour in advance of the appointment time.

Do I need to register for the convention to recruit at the Job MarketPlace?
The Job MarketPlace and the TESOL Convention are separate events with separate registration procedures. Convention registration is not included, nor is it required to recruit at the Job MarketPlace. As a recruiter, you will be able to visit the Exhibit Hall, but you must register for the convention to attend sessions. Premium Package holders are entitled to one free convention registration for a registered Job MarketPlace recruiter.
