Participant Qualifications:
The course focuses on skills in the English teaching field, so English language proficiency is an important factor in selecting participants as well as English language teaching experience.Minimum qualifications to apply to this TEFL program include:
- Teaching Experience: English teachers from colleges, normal schools, universities and the core teachers from elementary, middle and high schools are invited to apply. Qualified teachers in related fields are welcome to apply provided space is available. At least two years teaching experience is required;
- English Language Proficiency: Non-native English speaker applicants must possess a university degree specializing in English. Advanced proficiency in both English speaking and listening is required because all courses are taught in English and by professors from the University of Arizona. As such, all applicants must pass the placement tests in both writing and speaking via a telephone-interview.
- Professional reference: a professional reference letter is required as well, attesting to the applicant’s language proficiency and recent English language teaching experience.
- Complete Registration & Payment: applicants must complete the registration and payment process to be eligible for a seat in this program.

The number of program participants will be limited in 2006 in Beijing.. To To secure a seat, complete the following process:
- Download the form from our website, and submit the completed form together with the required essay component.
- Pay the 550-Yuan (RMB) test fee and schedule your placement test (the fee is refundable only to those who fail the placement test).
- A registration receipt will be sent to you within 1 week after taking the telephone English oral language placement interview.
- Results of the placement interview and formal admission notice will be sent within 1 week.
Applicants receiving admission to the program must then pay tuition within 5 working days in order to be guaranteed a seat in the program.
